diskG* to be sold into retail and corporate resellers across Western Europe
iStorage, a leading specialist in portable storage and digital encryption, has signed a series of distribution deals to take its range of innovative and unique portable hard disk drives to retail and resellers across much of Western Europe. Hermitage Solutions in France; E-Quipment in the Netherlands; Dot Force in Portugal, Spain and Italy; plus Littlebit in Switzerland have all signed long term agreements with a focus on getting iStorage’s diskG* to business and IT communities as well as consumers.
diskG* is a compact and robust portable hard drive featuring ATM style PIN code access and 128 or 256-bit AES encryption. It is an ideal solution to protecting confidential and sensitive business or personal data, if the drive is removed from its enclosure. The device guarantees file privacy as information stored can only be retrieved by the PIN code holder and its integrated USB 2.0 cable makes it convenient for access on the move.
The agreements follow the exclusive distribution deal recently signed with CMS Peripherals in the UK and Ireland and highlight iStorage’s commitment to reaching a wider market with its principal focus on avoiding data loss. As a result of the contracts, iStorage has already received a series of sizeable orders and discussions are ongoing over a large number of corporate deals.

The European Commission itself has been particularly proactive in its attempts to ensure that data protection and privacy keeps abreast of the impact of technological changes such as the proliferation of social networking sites and users. As part of this, in January of this year, the commission stated that it would look to reform the 1995 EU Data Protection Directive to ensure that a high level of personal data protection is maintained*.
