The Defender SED300 Self-Encrypting NVMe SSD is FIPS 140-2 Certified, a high level government certification ensuring that this Kanguru drive meets extensive testing and security demands for use in high-security environments. FIPS is the Federal Information Processing Standard, a set of security requirements for cryptographic modules.  This certification process was conducted by NIST (The National Institute of Standards and Technology), an accredited testing laboratory, which involves rigorous evaluation to ensure that the cryptographic module meets specific security standards. Organizations can be confident this drive meets the most stringent federal, healthcare and financial industry security regulations, including GDPR, HIPAA, Sarbanes Oxley, GLBA, and more.

FIPS 197 Certified AES 256-bit hardware encryption is the backbone of the SED300’s security, providing top tier performance unmatched by software encryption solutions. The “Always On” benefits of AES 256-Bit hardware encryption are significant, providing the best encryption module available today. AES is a widely recognized and adapted cryptographic module used in the U.S., Canada and worldwide. Running Data Defense on the Kanguru SED300 provides Government-Certified Data at Rest and high levels of compliance with minimal interaction from the end user.

The Defender SED300 Self-Encrypting SSD is TAA Compliant, which is ideal for government purchases, GSA Schedules and meeting certain compliance regulations.

The Defender SED300 uses an internal PCIe M.2, 2280 NVMe chip offering exceptional performance and speed, with Sequential Read up to 3000MB/s and Sequential Write up to 3000MB/s.
