iStorage, a leading specialist in portable storage and digital encryption, has announced the launch of datAshur ®, the world’s most secure, robust and affordable encrypted USB flash drive*. datAshur combines military grade AES 256-bit hardware encryption using a SHA-256 hashing cryptographic algorithm, an alphanumeric button-based keypad to input a 7-15 digit PIN code plus tamper resistant circuitry. Housed in a slim aluminium casing to protect from water and dust, it delivers a level of protection unseen before in a USB stick.
Securing ones data has become a matter of significant importance for both individuals and businesses alike. In an era of widely publicised cases of mislaid unencrypted flash drives containing confidential and personal data, plus an unprecedented rise in cyber warfare and data breaches via repeated malware and hacking attacks, cyber security now ranks amongst one of the UK’s most prominent national security issues. datAshur’s hardware encryption guarantees peace of mind against unlawful access and hacking attacks.
Why is datAshur from iStorage the world’s most secure USB flash drive?
datashur also protects against software and hardware keystroke logging plus brute force attacks thanks to its unique alphanumeric keypad. The datAshur does not employ software and requires the PIN to be entered via the onboard keypad before the drive is inserted in to the USB port on a computer, tablet or mobile device. This ensures that keyloggers do not have the opportunity to capture your password inputted via a keyboard. Furthermore, datAshur’s Brute Force Hack Defence Mechanism will destroy the encryption key and all stored data if the PIN is incorrectly entered 10 consecutive times.
John Michael, Managing Director of iStorage, commented, “As more stories hit the headlines of lost or stolen unencrypted flash drives containing sensitive personal and corporate data, individuals and organisations alike must move more swiftly and take greater responsibility to secure their data. datAshur’s hardware encryption, onboard keypad and 7-15 alphanumeric PIN will safeguard against hacking & keylogger attacks. Combine this with its slimline, robust aluminium design and you have a USB stick at a price affordable for anyone who cares about securing their data.”
datAshur can also be configured with independent User and Admin PINs, making it ideal for corporate and government use. If the user forgets the PIN, the drive can be unlocked using the Admin PIN which will then clear the old User PIN and allow the User to set a new one. It also includes a drive reset feature which clears all PINs and data, and creates a new randomly generated encryption key to enable the drive to be reset and reused as and when required as many times as necessary.
datAshur is available in three capacities of 4GB, 8GB and 16GB at the affordable prices of £39, £59 and £79 (ex. VAT) respectively. The device is fully compatible with Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac computers and Linux, and together with Symbian and Android powered tablets and smartphones, it maximises compatibility with the most popular platforms on the market. datAshur USB flash drives also come with a three year warranty making them a highly credible investment.
