No, you will need to install the datAshur BT Personal app on an Android smartphone or iPhone to be able to unlock and use your drive.
How do I download the datAshur BT Personal app?
iOS: Go to the App Store, type ‘datAshur BT Personal’ in the search command, select the app and tap “Get.” Wait for the app to download on your phone.
Android: Go to the Google Play store, type ‘datAshur BT Personal’ in the search command, select the app and tap “Install.” Wait for the app to download on your phone.
Which phones are compatible with my datAshur BT drive?
Your datAshur BT drive is compatible with Android smartphones and iPhone, specifically with Android OS 5.0 or higher, iOS 10.0 / iPhone 5 and above. It is not compatible with Microsoft smartphones.
I cannot connect to my datAshur BT drive using the datAshur BT Personal app.

What if I forget my drive’s password?
Use Password Recovery option if it was previously enabled (see datAshur BT Personal User Manual for more details). If an incorrect password is entered 10 times, the datAshur BT brute force mechanism will trigger deletion of the encryption key along with all data and user credentials.
I have just lost my datAshur BT drive. Is my data safe?
No need to worry. Your data on the drive is encrypted (AES-XTS 256-bit).You can also activate Remote Wipe command if this feature was previously enabled (see datAshur BT Personal User Manual for more details).
What if I lost/replaced my phone with the previously paired datAshur BT drive?
No need to worry, you can pair your drive with another phone. The same drive can be paired with multiple phones.
Why do I need to provide Location permission for datAshur BT Personal app (Android)?
In order to use datAshur BT Personal app on your Android device, you must allow two permissions: BLUETOOTH and LOCATION. All BLE applications on Android require location permission.
Can I access files on my datAshur BT drive from my phone?
You can connect your datAshur BT drive to your Android phone using the iStorage USB-C adapter to access and back-up your files. Please note, however, you cannot access files via the datAshur BT Personal App.
How many datAshur BT drives can I pair with the datAshur BT Personal app?
You can pair as many drives with the app as you would like and you can unlock multiple drives at the same time.
Is my datAshur BT drive water and / or dust proof?
Yes, the datAshur BT drive is IP57 certified for water and dust resistance.
Does my datAshur BT drive have GPS?
No, your drive doesn’t have internal GPS, but location services use your phone’s GPS.
Does my datAshur BT drive have an internal battery?
No, your drive does not have an internal battery.
Can I use my datAshur BT drive with both my Mac and PC?
Yes, your drive is formatted FAT32 or exFAT which is supported by both PC and Mac.
Do I need Internet connection for the datAshur BT drive to work?
Generally, you do not need Internet connection when using the datAshur BT Personal app. However, some features such as Password Recovery, 2FA and Remote Wipe require Internet Connection.
Do I need to keep the datAshur BT Personal app open while using the drive?
No, once drive is unlocked, you can close the app or turn off your phone.
I can see a few different datAshur BT apps on the App Store/Google Play. Which one do I need to use?
You will need to use the datAshur BT Personal app unless your datAshur BT drive is Remotely Managed by your organisation. If it is Remotely Managed, you will need to download and install the datAshur BT Managed app.
