Innovative and unique data devices to be sold into retail and corporate resellers

iStorage, a leading specialist in portable storage and digital encryption, has signed an exclusive distribution deal with CMS Peripherals in the UK and Ireland. CMS Peripherals, one of the largest independent distributors of IT data storage and digital consumer products and solutions, will target retail and corporate resellers with iStorage’s latest range of innovative and unique portable hard disk drives.
With a wide network of over 4000 corporate resellers and retail accounts, CMS Peripherals is aiming to reach the business and IT communities as well as consumers with a particular focus on diskG*enie. As a compact portable hard drive offering ATM style PIN code access and hardware encryption, diskG*enie is an ideal and unique solution to protect sensitive business information and prevent data loss should the hard drive be lost or stolen.
The new agreement follows many positive product reviews in national and technology media where it was also named ‘Gadget of the Week’ with a score of 5/5 in the UK’s Times newspaper. Also, as the UK’s privacy watchdog the Information Commissioner’s Office to implement penalties of up to £500,000 from April ’10 for companies found guilty of data loss and in breach of the Data Protection Act*, iStorage expects to quickly benefit from CMS’ extensive experience in corporate and consumer distribution.
CMS Peripherals Partner Operations Manager Stuart Borst commented, “The increasing frequency of data loss points to a need in the market for better measures to protect information should a portable device be lost or stolen. There is a real opportunity right now for the iStorage range making excellent sense for individuals and businesses to protect against data loss and CMS will get that message across.”
John Michael, Managing Director of iStorage said, “CMS Peripherals will provide iStorage with an experienced partner and network of resellers to help us reach end users as well as business and IT communities. Data loss is already a significant issue grabbing headlines on a regular basis but it can be easily prevented. We need to get that message across to a wider market more quickly and to educate target audiences about our unique range of products that will guarantee sensitive data remains confidential.”
